Senior Research Consultant at Chintan Research Foundation (CRF), Delhi. A well-established researcher in international relations, security studies and India’s foreign policy. My research specifically focuses on the West Asian region. I have written extensively on the Gaza War, Iran Nuclear Issue, Gulf Security Architecture etc.
I graduated from the National Defence Academy, Khadakwasla, Pune, and the Indian Military Academy, Dehradun, before commissioning into the Regiment of Artillery in June 1990. Over the past three decades, I have gained varied operational and service experience in the Indian Army. I commanded my Artillery Regiment on the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir and served as a Military Observer with the United Nations in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). Later, I worked as a Director in the Military Intelligence Directorate for three years, where I handled key international issues.
From September 2012 to September 2014, I served as a Research Fellow at MP-IDSA, New Delhi. Between 2017 and 2020, I worked as a Director in the Ministry of External Affairs. From September 2020 to September 2024, I served as the Assistant Director at MP-IDSA. I hold a Master’s Degree in Defence and Strategic Studies from Madras University.
I have published numerous peer-reviewed research papers, issue briefs, policy briefs, and web commentaries at think tanks and platforms such as MP-IDSA, ORF, IPCS, Diplomat, Geopolitical Monitor, South Asia Monitor, CLAWS, and Indian Foreign Affairs Journals. In addition, I have written over 200 articles and opinion pieces that appeared in leading newspapers including The Times of India, Hindustan Times, The Hindu, Economic Times, Tribune, Indian Express, and Pioneer.
I presented a paper on the Iran Nuclear Issue at Osmania University, Hyderabad, in 2014 and another on Gulf Security during the 2nd West Asia Conference at IDSA in January 2016. I have delivered talks and presentations at the Army War College, Mhow (Indore), Delhi University, JNU Delhi, and the College of Defence Management, Secunderabad. My official delegations have taken me to Qatar, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Israel, and the UAE.
I have participated in panel discussions on international and strategic issues on NDTV, India Today, TimesNow, News18, News9, India TV, and Doordarshan. I have also organized several international conferences, including the 13th Asian Security Conference in 2013 and the 1st West Asia Conference in 2014 at IDSA, New Delhi. Most recently, in June 2025, while at CRF, I organized an international conference on IMEC that received wide acknowledgment, and several of its recommendations have influenced government policies.
